Quick Trick: Use Run to access some basic applications in Windows XP

Hi World,

Ever wondered how to access those basic Windows XP applications such as your calculator or word pad without going through the lengthy process of the 'Start' menu > All Programs e.t.c. Well today we here at Apple Genius (SophomoreTech) have found a quick trick on how to do this.

We will use an application called 'Run' that is found in the 'Start' menu. All you have to do is click 'Start' and then click 'Run' on the right-hand side of the menu. Next, for every application listed below in bold and italics you must type the exact same command that is located next to the application.

  • Calculator: calc
  • Microsoft Word: winword
  • Word Pad: write
  • Internet Explorer: iexplore
So that's it. I hope you found this quick trick easy to follow. If not we here at Apple Genius (SophomoreTech) have posted a video on YouTube regarding the exact same subject, we also have other tech-related videos that you can check out.
