This post will show how to encrypt your files on a Mac without any difficulties. Please follow the steps below:

Locate the Disk Utility application on your Mac by doing a quick Spotlight search.
Load the application and click File>New>Blank Disk Image.
A new window will pop-up. Fill in your desired name, disk space e.t.c but leave untouched Volume Format and Partitions.
What you want to pay close attention to is the Encryption tab. Click on it and choose 128-bit AES Encryption which is recommended.
You will then be prompted to create a new password for your disk image. Make sure it is a memorable but strong password.
Once you are done creating your password click OK.

There you have it. Now, whenever you want to secure a file double-click on your disk image, input your password and add the selected file in.

First, load your web browser.

Once the page loads, download the iLife '09 Install DVD torrent.
Next, load your torrent application and download the torrent.
Once the torrent application completes the download, double-click on the disk image to load the installer.

This quick trick is a very easy one because you only need to Cut and Paste. All you have to do is the following:

Select and Copy the full YouTube URL of your desired YouTube video.
Make a new Tab.
Type the following URL in your address bar: http://file2hd.com/.
Place the YouTube address in the "URL" field.
Select Movie in the "Filter" and check the "Terms of Service" box.
Click "Get Files".
Right-Click the high-quality MP4 file and "Save Link As".

There you have it. Download High-Quality videos from YouTube.

Bought one too many duty-free vodkas from the airport and wonder just what to do with the stash? Well, eco-friendly company Horizon has the answer. Not quite in the league of the trash-to-fuel De Lorean in Back to the Future, the Horizon fuel cell Bio-Energy Kit is, after all, only $99.

But it will chug down any alcohol for fuel, albeit diluted first with water, and then distill this cocktail into pure electricity. The makers claim it's good enough to power small devices such as an iPod or a fan nonstop for days. Shipments begin September 5.

Drinkers may consider this a waste of good tipple, but hey, it could just save your liver, not to mention the environment. Bottoms up to that.

Open your Safari web browser.
Go to Edit.
Scroll down the pop-up box.
Click 'Private Browsing'.

Quick Trick: Use Run to access some basic applications in Windows XP

Hi World,

Ever wondered how to access those basic Windows XP applications such as your calculator or word pad without going through the lengthy process of the 'Start' menu > All Programs e.t.c. Well today we here at Apple Genius (SophomoreTech) have found a quick trick on how to do this.

We will use an application called 'Run' that is found in the 'Start' menu. All you have to do is click 'Start' and then click 'Run' on the right-hand side of the menu. Next, for every application listed below in bold and italics you must type the exact same command that is located next to the application.

Calculator: calc
Microsoft Word: winword
Word Pad: write
Internet Explorer: iexplore

So that's it. I hope you found this quick trick easy to follow. Easy Tip: Shorcut to shutting down Windows Vista

Hi World,

Need a quick and easy tip to shutdown Windows Vista. Well we have it for you. This is what you have to do:

Right-click on your desktop. Choose 'New' from the pop-up box. Next click on 'Shortcut'.
A new window will appear and ask you what item you want to create a shortcut for.
Inside of that window you will type the following command: Shutdown.exe -s -t 00.
After that click 'Next' .
Subsequently a new window will pop-up and ask you what to name that shortcut.
For this example we will name the shortcut 'SHUTDOWN'.
So there you have it, each time you decide to shutdown your computer you have an easier way to do it.

Note: If you changed the -s in the command above to -r you can make the shortcut restart your computer.

Windows Vista = Mac OS X?

Hi World,

Today I am going to be talking upon a subject that has stirred-up a lot of discussion and intrigue.
Is Microsoft copying Apple? Is Microsoft's new OS (Vista) a fake copy of Apple's Mac OS X? I hope that we will find the answer.

Windows Vista has a calendar program that resembles to the Mac OS X.
Windows Vista's photo organizing program is pretty similar to the Mac iPhoto program.

But is this really serious... no. I believe that the Apple fans are exaggerating upon this topic. So my intention today is to prove that Windows Vista has not ripped-off Apple's Mac OS X.

In a Mac, to find stuff you type a key-stroke and a small search bar appears at the top-right of the screen. This feature is called the 'Spotlight'. From there you can type a word like 'song' and the 'Spotlight' feature starts searching for the word 'song' in your hard disk drive. In Vista, you click on the 'Start' menu and simply type a word like 'song' and Vista searches your hard disk drive for the word 'song'.

Difference: In Vista the search bar is at the bottom-left. You see top-right, bottom-left there is a difference. So they are not the same.

In a Mac, there are some small pop-up programs that let you keep track of the weather, stocks and so on. In Vista, they have this as well.

Difference: In a Mac the small pop-up programs are called widgets. In Vista they are called gadgets. Widgets, Gadgets... not the same thing.

Last but not least:

In a Mac, for several years Apple has added a chess game. In Vista, as well. In a Mac, thought you can change the theme of your chess board to: Wood, Metal, Grass and Marble. In Vista, you can change the theme of your chess board to: Marble, Wood or PORCELAIN.

Difference: In Vista, its porcelain.

Add Memory or Run Anti-Virus?

Hi World,

Is your computer running slow? If the answer is yes then there are 2 principal causes:

Your computer might be infected with malicious software like viruses and spyware. This might slow down your computer because the program or programs that came with the virus/spyware might be running in the background of your computer without your consent or knowledge.

Solution: Download and run an anti-virus or anti-spyware program to get rid of the malicious software/code that might be the cause of the slowing down of your computer. You can download a free anti-virus + anti-spyware bundled software here.

If this in not the problem to the slowing down of your computer then there might be another cause:

If you are using your computer a lot and performing a lot of tasks at the same time (multi-tasking) then your computer might need memory or RAM (Random Access Memory). The repeated usage of your computer might suck-up your computer's RAM. You can find how much RAM your computer has by going to: "My Computer". Right-click the icon and choose "Properties" and look at the bottom right. If you eventually find out that you need RAM you can go online and buy SAFELY from these to sites: Kingston or Crucial.
If you don't want to spend that extra bit of money to buy RAM for your computer you can use an easy application that can squeeze as much RAM as possible from your computer like a sponge with water. The app does all the work for you so you just relax or simply continue on with your work. The app can be found here.

I am back. I know I have been away for a long time but now I have returned and ready to blog.

I would like to inform you on the new releases in the world of technology:

1. The iPhone 3G was released in the United Stated on the 11th of July at 8.00 am.The iPhone 3G is priced at $199 for the 8 GB model and $299 for the 16 GB model which comes with the black or white glossy back faceplate.

2. The Apple Mac Pro was released(the Mac Pro was released nearly 2 years ago but it is a significant milestone in the world of technology). This is Apple's most advanced desktop computer to date. It runs with an Intel Xeon cell processor which can enable the Mac Pro to run at its maximum 3.2 GHz and 64-bit.
